Since the beginning, our heart has been beating to create products with love and respect for animals, people and nature. Every pair of egos shoes begins its journey with care in Denmark, where they are designed, and continues to Nepal, where they are handmade. We never compromise on quality, and our dedicated employees work with pride and awareness of the high standards we and our customers expect. Thanks to our close collaboration with suppliers, we can proudly follow each pair of shoes all the way from the sheep's wool to the moment they sit on your feet.

CREATED WITH WOOL FROM NEW ZEALAND
egos slippers are handmade in Nepal from natural New Zealand wool. To create our colorful universe of slippers and shoes, the raw wool is dyed with eco-friendly dyes. The wool is carded and the real work of making the slippers can begin.
The carded wool is shaped
The carded wool is shaped and soapy water is massaged into it, causing the small fibers in the wool to bind together.
Soapy water is thoroughly massaged into the wool, causing the fine fibers to bind tightly together. This process makes the wool compact and strong, while retaining its softness and insulation properties. The result is a solid and durable material that becomes the foundation of the egos shoe.
Once the felting is complete and the material has reached the desired strength and density, an opening is cut where the foot will be inserted. This step is crucial to ensure the shoe fits perfectly and is comfortable to wear.

egos sizes and fits are designed using egos Copenhagen's own specially developed shoemaker's last, which is carefully designed to follow the natural shape of the foot. This last ensures that each egos shoe offers optimal comfort and support to fit your feet perfectly.

Once the shoe is finished, it goes through a thorough washing and spinning process to ensure all soap is rinsed out. This process not only removes soap residue, but also helps to soften the material and prepare the shoe for final quality control so it's ready to be worn.
Once the shaping of the shoe is complete, it is gently dried under the Nepalese sun. This natural drying process helps to preserve the shape and quality of the shoe so it's ready to wear.

Once the shoe is completely dry, the sole is cut out, which is either made of suede or rubber, both natural materials. Suede soles provide a soft and flexible feel, while rubber soles offer durability and slip resistance. The choice of these natural materials ensures both comfort and functionality, so the shoes fit your needs perfectly.
-
A layer of glue is then applied to the sole to ensure extra quality and durability. This careful process reinforces the connection between the sole and the shoe, contributing to the overall strength and long-lasting comfort of the shoe.
The sole is then stitched on, which is the final step in the production process. This thorough sewing process ensures that the sole is firmly connected to the shoe, increasing both durability and quality. Once this step is complete, the shoe is ready to be packed in its shoebox and shipped to Denmark, where it waits to find its new owner.
